Many people claim that some drugs had influence in the human evolution but coffee has never been mentioned. Coffee has never been mentioned because it’s a quite recent drug in the evolutionary path but have you noticed that nowadays everybody drinks coffee.

Our kids grow up in a coffee drinkers society that work harder than normal and that are faster than normal, don’t you think that in social terms we’re creating a different social environment for our kids. Don’t you think that our collective conscience isn’t affected by this substance that makes us more efficient?

Indeed coffee is changing a few things and the changes are so good that even the big corporations support the use of coffee. Certainly coffee has a desirable effect in people but will this change our evolution has we know it? Will faster and more efficient people will have a bigger lineage.

It’s obvious that in nowadays society people when finding a mate to procreate will try to find the most suitable and successful one to be able to have a big lineage. This perfect mate probably will drink coffee to be more efficient than others. Will this mean that our society by giving better jobs to the most efficient ones will enable them to have more kids, kids that will have traits of that same suitability to be more efficient with coffee.

As you can see allowing a legal drug to circulate freely in the system can have big consequences, consequences that can be good or bad. As we all know people that deal good with coffee will most probably be more successful and have money to have a bigger family that carries some of their traits.

The society gears are always working even if we don’t notice and a big question arises: WILL COFFEE PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN OUR EVOLUTION? This is a hypothetical question that can only be answered with the pass of time but I most certainly believe that in the future we’ll be able to easily identify the consequences of having an induced coffee society.

I think that universities in the field of sociology and biology should start studying this effect as soon as possible so that we may be able to anticipate the future.

This study can also be applied to other drugs and other interactions of drugs but I think that the coffee is the most obvious one that is being consumed by the majority of the human race. This is a worldwide experience that cannot be disregarded. Nowadays we have to face with globalization and if this theory proves right we’re facing a global change thanks to a drug, it’s important to keep a close eye to the significance and probable consequences in the future.
